After several hours over a few days I got down to 1900 or so games, and loaded my Pi with those. Then, there are lots and lots (I mean lots!) of mahjong-style Japanese puzzle games that you will probably not be interested in, etc. Same exact game but some slight difference in the ROM) so after you filter those out, you're down to, say, 2000+ games. What you have there is literally 4000+ titles, many of which are clones (i.e. I just got MAME going on my Pi 3 in the last week, and I started with the full.78 set as people have mentioned.
